Chisago Lakes Triathlon
The Chisago Lakes Triathlon takes place July 26, 2026 in Chisago City, Minnesota. The event is USAT sanctioned and is centered at Paradise Park on Chisago Lake. The swim starts in the water with waves of about 50 athletes; buoys mark the swim course and should be kept to the right.
Distances offered:
- Sprint: 0.25 mile swim, 15 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
- Olympic: 0.75 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 6.2 mile run
- Half: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run
The bike course features rolling hills with a few larger climbs. Two bike aid stations are located at mile 25 and mile 47 and provide bottle exchange, water, Gatorade, simple carbs and medical supplies. The run course goes through residential streets with community support; run aid stations appear every 2 miles and provide water, Gatorade and simple carbs. Turnarounds for the run legs differ by distance and are noted on course maps.
Event rules and procedures include required swim caps, helmets secured before leaving transition, relay chip handoff at the cyclist's bike spot, no drafting on the bike, bib worn on the run, and chip return responsibility at finish. Parking at Chuckie Lindquist Park is reserved for elite athletes due to limited spaces.
Awards include top three male and female in Elite, overall and age group awards by five year increments up to 80-84, and top three relay teams. Participants receive a t-shirt, finisher medal, swim cap, and post-event food. Volunteer opportunities are available in multiple roles and across several days surrounding the event.
