Chippenham Half Marathon
The Chippenham Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 13th September 2026. The event is a half marathon held on a predominantly flat, accurately measured course that starts and finishes at Chippenham Sports Club, adjacent to Chippenham Town football ground.
The route goes through the centre of the historic market town of Chippenham and continues through villages and hamlets including Tytherton Lucas, East Tytherton, Avon, Kellaways and Langley Burrell before returning to town for a fast downhill finish into the sports club cricket pavilion. Organisers describe the course as suitable for first time runners and for runners aiming for a personal best.
On the day there is on the day registration, a pre race warm up, a walk to the start and a prize giving. Headphones are not permitted including bone conducting devices. Road closures operate at the start and as runners return towards the finish; affected streets are reopened as soon as it is safe and warning signs are posted in advance. The event is organised in partnership with local agencies including Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire Police.
Chippenham is about four miles south of the M4 and is accessible by road, rail and coach. The event has a history of supporting local charities and in 2025 distributed £12,000 to local causes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
