Chippenham Half Marathon
The Chippenham Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 13 September 2026. The event is a half marathon on a fast, accurately measured and predominantly flat course that starts and finishes at Chippenham Sports Club, next to Chippenham Town Football ground, with a downhill run into the sports club cricket pavilion.
The route passes through the centre of the historic market town of Chippenham and continues through the villages and hamlets of Tytherton Lucas, East Tytherton, Avon, Kellaways and Langley Burrell before returning to the town for the finish. Organisers describe the course as suitable for first-time half marathon runners and for those aiming for a personal best.
Road closures will be in place at the start of the race and again as runners return towards the finish. Warning signs are put up in affected streets in the weeks before the event and the organisers work with Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire Police and other agencies to limit disruption. Access for residents will be available but may be restricted until it is safe to proceed.
Headphones are not permitted, including bone-conducting devices. The event has a long history of supporting local charities; in 2025 the race distributed £12,000 to local charities.
Chippenham is accessible by motorway and main roads and is served by the main line rail route from London Paddington, national coach services and local bus links. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
