Chippenham Half Marathon - 13 September 2026
The Chippenham Half Marathon is a measured road race that starts and finishes at Chippenham Sports Club, adjacent to the town football ground. The course is described as predominantly flat and fast, with an overall layout that passes through the centre of the historic market town of Chippenham and through surrounding villages and hamlets including Tytherton Lucas, East Tytherton, Avon, Kellaways and Langley Burrell, before returning to the town and finishing in the sports club cricket pavilion.
Event services on the day include registration, a group warm-up and a prize giving. The organiser's rules state that headphones are not permitted, including bone conducting devices.
Road closures will be in operation around the start area and later as runners return towards the finish; affected roads will be reopened once it is safe to do so. Warning signs are placed on affected streets in advance and the organisers work with local authorities and emergency services to manage disruption.
The event notes a long heritage of supporting local charities and reports that £12,000 was distributed to local charities in 2025. Travel information highlights Chippenham's proximity to the M4, rail connections to London Paddington, national coach links and local bus and mini bus services.
