The course is entirely off road, covers 21.1 km, and has approximately 526 m of ascent.
The event is fully marked with orange arrow markers and ribbons, and marshals assist at road crossings and busier sections. Portaloo toilets are provided at the start and finish, with additional public toilets in Wendover and at the train station.

The field is limited to 350 runners with a four hour time limit. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules and is listed as a UTMB World Series index race.
Entries are open to runners aged 17 and over without qualification requirements. Required items recommended for the race include a mobile phone, a digital route map on watch or phone, and a soft cup for drinks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
