About the race
The Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon is a trail running race along The Ridgeway National Trail between Wendover and Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire, scheduled for 4 July 2027. The route runs from Coombe Hill in Wendover to Whiteleaf Hill near Princes Risborough and includes a loop through Whiteleaf Hill Nature Reserve.
The course is entirely off road and covers 21.1 km with approximately 526 m of ascent. The route is undulating with multiple climbs and descents, and it is fully marked using orange arrow markers and ribbons. Marshals will assist at road crossings and busier sections. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules, and it is listed as a UTMB World Series index race.
Two aid station visits are provided at Green Hailey, located at about 8.5 km and 11.5 km, where water, cola, Precision Fuel & Hydration gels and chews, jelly babies, crisps and toilet facilities are available. The event base and registration are at the Shoulder of Mutton pub on Pound Street in Wendover, with the finish area at Hampden Meadow, South Street, Wendover. Wendover train station provides parking and lies about a five minute walk from the event base.
Additional details include a maximum field of 350 runners, a 4 hour time limit, a minimum age of 17, no dogs permitted, downloadable GPX files for navigation, and recommended kit such as a mobile phone, a digital route map on watch or phone, and a soft cup for drinks.
