Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon
The Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon takes place on 5 July 2026 and starts and finishes in Wendover, Buckinghamshire. The route follows The Ridgeway National Trail between Coombe Hill (Wendover) and Whiteleaf Hill (near Princes Risborough) and includes a loop through Whiteleaf Hill Nature Reserve. The course is entirely off-road trail with a total distance of 21.1 km and total ascent of 526 m. The exact start location may be moved slightly because of HS2 works.
Practical information
The event is limited to 350 runners and has a 4-hour time limit. Navigation is fully marked with orange arrow markers and ribbons; marshals will be present at road crossings and busier sections. Two aid station visits occur at The Plough, Cadsden (at 6.7 km and 13.4 km) where water, coke, gels from Precision Fuel & Hydration and jelly babies are available; there are also toilets at the pub and portaloo toilets at the event base. Registration is at the Shoulder of Mutton pub on Pound Street, Wendover, with finish at Hampden Meadow, South Street, Wendover. Parking is at Wendover train station. Entry is £35 (£33 for UKA affiliated runners); minimum age is 17. The race is a UTMB World Series index race, holds TRA licence No. 7443, and is run under UKA rules. Runners are asked to carry a mobile phone, a digital route map on watch or phone, and a soft cup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
