Event details

The Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon takes place on 5th July 2026. The race distance is 21.1 km with 526 m+ of elevation. The event is limited to 350 runners and has a 4 hour time limit. Terrain is entirely off road on trail paths and the race is a UTMB World Series index race. The event is licensed (TRA License No. 7443) and held under UKA rules. Entry fee is £35 (£33 for UKA affiliated runners). Minimum age is 17 and dogs are not permitted. Entries include a finishers medal, timing with live results, two on-route aid stations, medical support and a bag drop. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers and for multiple age categories.

Route and logistics

The route starts and finishes in Wendover and follows The Ridgeway National Trail between Coombe Hill and Whiteleaf Hill, including a loop in Whiteleaf Hill Nature Reserve. Navigation is fully marked with arrow markers and ribbons and marshals will assist at road crossings and busier sections. There is one checkpoint passed twice at The Plough, Cadsden (6.7 km and 13.4 km) offering water, cola, gels and sweets, plus toilets. Registration is at the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Wendover and parking is available at Wendover train station; the walk to the start is about 500 m.
