Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon
The Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon is a 21.1 km off‑road race along The Ridgeway National Trail between Wendover and Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire. The route follows a stretch of The Ridgeway between Coombe Hill and Whiteleaf Hill and includes a loop through Whiteleaf Hill Nature Reserve. Total ascent is 526 m.
The event is scheduled for 5 July 2026 and is licensed by the Trail Running Association; it is also listed as a UTMB World Series Index Race. The field is limited to 350 runners and the race has a 4 hour time limit. Navigation is fully marked with orange arrows and ribbons, and marshals assist at road crossings and busier sections.
The event base and registration are at the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Wendover; the finish is at Hampden Meadow, South St, Wendover. Parking is available at Wendover train station, which is a short walk from the event base. There are portaloo toilets at start and finish, and public toilets in Wendover and the train station.
There are two on-route checkpoint stops at The Plough, Cadsden (passed twice) offering water, Coke, gels from Precision Fuel & Hydration, jelly babies and WC facilities. Required items recommended for the run include a mobile phone, a digital route map on watch or phone, and a soft cup for aid stations. Minimum age for entry is 17 and dogs are not permitted.
