Event overview

The Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon is a trail race on The Ridgeway National Trail in Buckinghamshire, between Wendover and Princes Risborough. The course runs from Coombe Hill in Wendover to Whiteleaf Hill and includes a loop through Whiteleaf Hill Nature Reserve. The distance is 21.1km with approximately 526m+ of elevation gain. The route is entirely off road, fully marked with orange arrows and ribbons, and includes numerous ups and downs. The event is a UTMB World Series Index Race qualifier and is held under TRA/UKA rules (TRA License No. 7443).

Practical information

Race registration and event base are at the Shoulder of Mutton pub on Pound Street, Wendover; the start is a short walk of about 500 m from registration and the finish is at Hampden Meadow, South St, Wendover. The field is limited to 350 runners, minimum age is 17, dogs are not permitted, and the time limit is 4 hours. Parking is available at Wendover train station. There are two on-course aid stations at The Plough, Cadsden (at 6.7 km and 13.4 km) with toilets; aid station supplies include water, Coke, PF 30 gels, and jelly babies. Required items include a mobile phone (recommended), a digital route map on watch or phone (recommended), and a soft cup for drinks (recommended). Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers and in several age categories. Registration fee is £35 (£33 for UKA affiliated runners).
