First Capital Triathlon
The event offers two triathlon distance options that take place in Chillicothe, Ohio, using Yoctangee Park, the 50 meter City Pool, and the Paint Creek Recreational Trail. The swim takes place in the city pool and uses a serpentine swim format. The transition area is located in the parking lot near the main parking lot entrance by the pool house.
Distances:
- Mini: 200M swim, 6.2Mi bike, 1.6Mi run
- Sprint: 400M swim, 13Mi bike, 5K run
Bike course description: Riders exit the parking lot onto Back Road and enter the Paint Creek Recreational Trail heading west. Participants are instructed to stay right at forks. Mini participants turn around where the trail resumes. Sprint participants continue farther on the trail and turn around near the Ross County Parks District Garage.
Run course description: Runners exit the parking lot onto Back Road and enter the trail heading east. Mini runners turn around at the wooden staircase by The Pump House Art Gallery. Sprint runners stay left at the fork, run under the bridge, continue back up, and turn around at Strawser Park.
