The Big Deal at Great Seal
The event is a trail running event at Great Seal State Park in Chillicothe, OH with multiple distance options:
- 100 mile
- 100k
- 20 mile
- Adult 5k
- 5k Youth
The main competition uses a 20 mile loop. Each loop is about 95 percent single track and has roughly 3100 to 3200 feet of elevation gain. The course includes named features such as Ireland Shelter, Sugarloaf, Bald Hill, Sand Hill, Rock Garden, Lick Run, Shawnee Ridge and others. Some mid-loop sections on Shawnee Ridge will have two way traffic and the course will be marked to distinguish traffic flow.
Aid stations: five stops on the loop at the start/finish, Rocky Road, and Lick Run locations. Stations will offer water, soda, electrolytes, hot food and snacks. Crew access is allowed at the start/finish (Ireland Shelter) and at Lick Run; crew access at Rocky Road or other on-course locations is not permitted except for emergencies.
Race services and rules include GPX course files, a decision to remove the Shrake Road section for safety, cutoffs for the 100 mile distance (36 hours total and a requirement to begin the final lap within 28 hours), pacer rules, drop bag limits and a mandatory gear list for 100 mile and 100k entrants.
