Distances
The event offers five distances:
- 100 mile
- 100k
- 20 Miler
- Adult 5k
- 5k YOUTH
Course
The main course is a 20-mile loop with about 3200 feet of elevation gain. It is 95% single track and 5% dual track trail. The route passes various landmarks and includes sections with two-way traffic. The 100-mile race consists of five laps of this course, the 100k is three laps plus a two-mile finishing loop, and the 20-miler is a single lap.
Logistics
There are five aid stations on the 20-mile loop, located at the start/finish and at specific mile points. Crew access is allowed only at the start/finish area and one specific aid station. Runners in the 100 mile and 100k events must carry mandatory gear, including a GPX file, two headlamps, a whistle, an emergency blanket, water carrying capacity, and a collapsible cup.
Awards
Finishers receive awards: a metal buckle for the 100 mile, a wooden belt buckle for the 100k, and a traditional finisher's "woodal" for the 20 mile and 5k distances. The Golden Goat is a special award for 100-mile finishers who complete the race in under 26 hours, or for the top 10 percent of finishers if no one breaks that mark. Podium awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance.
Additional Information
Packet pickup for the 100 mile and 100k is mandatory on Friday night, which includes a race briefing. The 20 mile and 5k runners can pick up their packets on Friday night or on race morning. The event takes place at Great Seal State Park near Chillicothe, Ohio. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
