Chile & Frijole Hot to Trot 5K & 10K
The Chile & Frijole Hot to Trot is a road and river-trail running event held in Pueblo, Colorado on September 20, 2026. Two race distances are offered:
- 5K
- 10K
Both courses begin and end at Walter’s Brewing Company and use sections of the Arkansas River Trail and the Pueblo Riverwalk. Runners cross the Main Street Bridge, descend to the river trail, and follow routes that pass Lake Runyon and Phelps Creek. The 10K includes an approximately 1.5 mile out-and-back segment and a full loop around Lake Runyon. There will be water stations along each course and one at the finish line.
Registration opens April 6, 2026 and closes September 6, 2026. Early-entry pricing through September 5, 2026 is listed as $35 for the 5K and $40 for the 10K; fees increase beginning September 6. Runners who register by September 5, 2026 are guaranteed a race shirt and a free entry into the Chile & Frijole Festival.
Awards include recognition for overall winners, age-group medals for the top three in 10-year divisions, and finisher medals for the first 350 registered participants to cross the finish line. Course rules state no pets; strollers are permitted but may encounter narrow or crowded sections and should start toward the back for safety. Packet pickup is scheduled the Friday before the race and on race morning at Walter’s Brewing Company. Parking will be limited due to the concurrent Pueblo Chile & Frijoles Festival.
