Chile & Frijole Hot to Trot 5K & 10K
The Chile & Frijole Hot to Trot is a community road race held in Pueblo, Colorado on September 20, 2026. Events begin and end at Walter’s Brewing Company (126 Oneida) and take runners onto the Arkansas River Trail and the Pueblo Riverwalk during the Pueblo Chile & Frijoles Festival, held downtown along Union Avenue.
Distances offered:
- 5K
- 10K
Both courses are primarily flat with the Main Street Bridge as the main climb. The 5K route goes over the Main Street Bridge, follows the Arkansas River Trail past Lake Runyon, runs north along Phelps Creek, crosses Fay’s Crossing Bridge, and returns via the Riverwalk to the start area. The 10K follows a longer out-and-back section on the Arkansas River Trail, completes a loop around Lake Runyon, continues north along Phelps Creek, crosses Fay’s Crossing Bridge, and finishes on the Riverwalk at the start area.
There will be water stations along each course and one at the finish line. Course rules note that pets are not allowed and strollers are permitted but should start toward the back because some pathways and a wooden bridge can become narrow. Packet pickup is scheduled at Walter’s Brewing Company on the days before and on the morning of the race. Parking is expected to be limited during the festival; the Main Street Parking Garage is located near the start and finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
