Chick-fil-A 10k/5k : Newport News, VA
The Chick-fil-A 10k/5k is the 19th annual running event in Newport News, Virginia, located at 100 Museum Drive. The event program includes three races and a post-race family area.
All three races use all-paved courses. The Chick-fil-A 10k and Chick-fil-A 5k run through the Mariners' Museum area, Lions Bridge, Riverside Drive and along the James River. The 10k and 5k are USATF certified and are described as smooth and easy to follow.
After the races there is a Post Party and a Family Fun Zone with activities for families. The event also partners with the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank to raise funds to provide 20,000 meals. Donations can be made during online registration and at Packet Pickup, and each donated dollar is stated to provide three meals.
