SCOTT Cheviot Goat - All Women Gathering
This is an all women gathering at Mounthooly Bunkhouse in College Valley, Wooler, England, organised by Coldbrew Events with partners including SCOTT Sport UK and Be What You Can't See Project. The day combines indoor sessions and a community run on the Cheviot hills.
The programme begins with morning talks, a question and answer session, a kit review and pre outing snacks at the bunkhouse. Participants then head into the hills for approximately three hours on exposed terrain, and return to the bunkhouse for a final chat and tea to close the day. The precise route will be confirmed closer to the event and will include a bad weather alternative.
Because the location gives direct access to remote parts of the Cheviots, public transport is not available to the immediate area. Weather can be unpredictable so a basic hill kit is required: waterproof jacket and trousers, hat and gloves, a warm layer, torch, foil blanket, trail shoes, personal medication, nutrition and hydration. Organisers can loan trainers, bags, foil blankets and torches if requested in advance. A GPX file including the bad weather alternative will be provided about four weeks beforehand. The run is community focused at a social pace, with regrouping points and community leads. Participants take part at their own risk and will be asked to confirm this as part of registration.
