Event details
The Chesterfield Santa Fun Run & Walk takes place on 21 December 2025 at Queen's Park, finishing in front of the Cricket Pavilion. The event is organised under ARC rules - Permit No: ARC/25/0843. It is a fun run so no official finish line timings are recorded; competitors may use their own timing devices if they wish. All finishers receive a commemorative medal and Christmas chocolates or sweets.
Distances:
- 1.5 km - three and a half laps around the cricket pitch
- 5 km - one lap of the cricket pitch then just over four laps on the outer park path
Entry and logistics
Entries are limited to 700 and no entries are taken on the day. Online entries close at 13:00 on 19 December 2025. Entry fees vary by age and whether a Santa suit is included: adults (16+) £14 with suit or £10 without; ages 11-15 £9 with suit or £5 without; up to age 10 £7 with suit or £3 without. Adult Santa suits provided are unisex, one size fits all; female-specific suits are not available this year.
Santa suits paid for can be collected in advance from Ashgate Hospice Furniture Store, Unit 9a, Storforth Lane Trading Estate, Hasland, Chesterfield S41 0QD, with collection dates and times to be decided. Race numbers for entrants using their own suits are available from the Cricket Pavilion on race day. The event HQ is the Cricket Pavilion in Queen's Park, where toilets and changing facilities are available. The event supports Ashgate Hospice.
