Chester Triathlon
The Chester Triathlon is a multidisciplinary event held in the centre of the historic City of Chester. It is currently in its 28th year and takes place on Sunday 7 June 2026. Four race options are offered:
- Deva Olympic - 1,500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run
- Deva Centurion 100K - 2,000m swim, 80km bike, 18km run
- Short Distance - 750m swim, 40km bike, 5km run
- Aquabike - 1,500m swim and 40km bike
The Deva Olympic distance is a World Standard Distance Triathlon Qualifier. Transition and the event village are located in Grosvenor Park, a Victorian park in the city centre. The bike route passes through Cheshire and Welsh countryside including Eccleston, Rossett and Borras, then returns into Chester via Alford and Boughton. The run course crosses the Old Dee Bridge and the suspension bridge, runs along the Groves and through the meadows, finishing back in Grosvenor Park.
Event facilities listed include bag drop, portaloos, food and snacks, hot drinks and race merchandise. Chester station is a short walk from Grosvenor Park with direct train services from Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and London. Volunteer roles include course marshal, drink station and event crew; volunteers receive a technical race t shirt, a goody bag and refreshments.
