2026 Chester Triathlon
The 27th Chester Triathlon takes place in the centre of the City of Chester and offers multiple triathlon formats on a single event day. British Triathlon has designated the Deva Olympic distance as a World Standard Distance Triathlon Qualifier for 2027. The event features a city centre swim start on the banks of the River Dee and routes that pass through Cheshire and parts of North Wales, with a finish in Grosvenor Park where local supporters are present.
Categories and race formats include:
- Deva Olympic: Swim 1500m, Bike 40 km, Run 10 km
- Deva Centurion 100K: Swim 2000m, Bike 80 km, Run 18 km
- Short Distance: Swim 750m, Bike 40 km, Run 5 km
- Aqua Bike: Swim 1500m, Bike 40 km
- Relay options where a team of three complete the disciplines
Age restrictions are specified per category; entries close shortly before the event. Entry pricing varies by category and booking period and some categories include items such as a race hoodie or goody bag and T shirt for relay teams. A timing chip and strap are issued at number collection and must be worn on the ankle under the wetsuit and returned after the race. Failure to return the timing chip and strap incurs a £50 charge to release a bike from transition.
