Chester Spring 5
The Chester Spring 5 is an accurately measured road race covering a distance of 5 miles. Organized by the West Cheshire Athletic Club, the event features a course that utilizes rural lanes and country roads. The terrain is described as fast and follows a gently undulating profile through the local area.
The event starts and finishes at the playing fields of the Cheshire County Sports Club in Chester. For timing accuracy, the race uses a chip timing system to record the results of each participant. Due to safety regulations and the opening of roads, the course is marshaled based on a finishing pace of 60 minutes.
Registration is open to individuals who are at least 15 years old on the day of the event. The competition includes a prize fund for several categories:
- 5 miles (Open Male and Female, veteran categories, and club teams)
Participants are required to follow UK Athletics rules, which include a prohibition on wearing headphones or earpieces during the race to ensure the safety of all runners. Results from the event, including names, club affiliations, and age categories, are published following the completion of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
