2026 MBNA Chester Marathon
The MBNA Chester Marathon takes place on 11 October 2026 at Chester Racecourse, Watergate Street, CH1 2LY, United Kingdom. The organiser states it is the fifth largest marathon in the UK and that it has received awards including a Racecheck GOLD rating.
The route starts and finishes in the city centre, passes Chester's landmarks, heads into the Cheshire and North Wales countryside, and returns along the banks of the River Dee. Spectators line parts of the course.
Before race day entrants receive access to training plans, support including free training runs, and a personalised race pack with race number and timing chip sent by post. Overseas runners need to collect their race numbers at the event Help Desk. The organiser provides a social community and communications for entrants.
On race day finishers receive a long sleeve quarter zip technical T-shirt, a bespoke medal and a goody bag with post race nutrition. The event offers on-course hydration and nutrition, medical support, a runners Help Desk, live tracking for supporters, and cash prizes for the top five men and women and for age group winners.
Entry options include a Green Runner choice that forgoes the medal, T-shirt and goody bag and donates their cost to the race charity. Minimum age on race day is 18. Entries are non refundable, transfers to another runner are permitted before the event, and Refund Protect insurance is available at entry.
