Active Leisure Events in Chester
Active Leisure Events stages a set of road running and triathlon events in the City of Chester. The programme includes a marathon, a metric marathon, a half marathon, a city-centre 10K and a triathlon. The Chester Triathlon is in its 27th year and features Olympic, 100K and Short distance races held in the centre of Chester. The triathlon has been awarded the World Standard Distance Triathlon Qualifier for the Deva Olympic distance by British Triathlon. All races are organised under UKA rules and courses are measured by the Association of UK Course Measurers.
2026 dates, distances and the Chester Triple
The organiser published dates for 2026 events: the MBNA Chester 10K on 8 March 2026; the Essar Chester Half Marathon on 17 May 2026; the Chester Triathlon on 7 June 2026; and the MBNA Chester Marathon and Metric Marathon on 11 October 2026. The event series includes a Chester Triple challenge: participants who complete the 10K, the half marathon and either the marathon or the metric marathon in the same year receive a Chester Triple Medal.
