Event Overview
The MBNA Chester Metric Marathon is a 26.6 km distance race held in Chester. It serves as an intermediate distance for those who have completed half marathons and are preparing for full marathons. The event takes place alongside the standard marathon weekend and utilizes many of the same course features and support structures.
Course Details
The race features a city centre start and finish at Chester Racecourse. The route guides participants past several local landmarks before heading into the Cheshire countryside. During the rural sections, the course joins with the path used by the full marathon participants. The final stretch brings runners back into the city along the banks of the River Dee, finishing in the heart of Chester.
