2026 MBNA Chester Marathon - 11 October 2026
The MBNA Chester Marathon is scheduled for 11 October 2026 at The Racecourse, New Crane St, Chester CH1 2LY, United Kingdom. The event is described as the fifth largest marathon in the UK, a three-time winner of the UK's best marathon, Racecheck GOLD rated, and the venue for the England and Welsh Athletics Age Group Masters Championships.
The route begins and finishes in the city centre, passes Chester's notable landmarks, continues into the Cheshire and North Wales countryside, and returns along the banks of the River Dee. Spectators line sections of the course.
Registered runners receive pre-race support that includes access to training plans, free training runs, support and advice, and a personalised race pack with race number and timing chip posted in advance; runners from outside the UK collect numbers from the event Help Desk. The organiser provides sponsor offers and competitions, a social community on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and free runner-to-runner transfers.
On race day participants receive a long sleeve quarter zip technical T-shirt, a bespoke medal and a goody bag with post-race nutrition. The event offers cash prizes for the top five men and women and for age-group winners, on-course hydration and nutrition, medical support, a runners Help Desk and a live tracking website for supporters.
