MBNA Chester Marathon (Chester, 11 October 2026)
The MBNA Chester Marathon is a 26.2 mile race held on 11 October 2026 at The Racecourse, New Crane St, Chester CH1 2LY, UK. The event is part of the MBNA Chester Marathon weekend. Organisers describe it as the fifth largest marathon in the UK, a three time winner of the UK's Best Marathon award, Racecheck GOLD rated, and the host for the England and Welsh Athletics Age Group Masters Championships.
The course starts and finishes in the city centre, passes Chester landmarks, then heads out into the Cheshire and North Wales countryside before returning along the banks of the River Dee. The route is run on fully closed roads. All races in the series are organised under UKA rules and are measured by the Association of UK Course Measurers.
Pre-race services include access to training plans, free training runs, a personalised race pack with race number and timing chip posted to entrants (overseas runners collect numbers from a Help Desk), and free runner to runner transfers. On race day entrants receive a long sleeve quarter zip technical T-shirt, a bespoke medal and a goody bag with post race nutrition. The event provides on course hydration and nutrition, medical support, a runners Help Desk, cash prizes for top finishers and age group winners, and a live tracking website. Local Cestrian supporters line sections of the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
