2026 MBNA Chester Metric Marathon
The MBNA Chester Metric Marathon is a 26.6 km race held in Chester, providing a distance that sits between a half marathon and a full marathon. The event starts and finishes at the Chester Racecourse, featuring a route that begins in the city centre. Runners pass several of Chester's landmarks before heading into the Cheshire countryside. During the latter part of the course, participants join the route of the full marathon runners and travel along the banks of the River Dee back to the city.
Participants have access to various support services, including training plans and free training runs. The race package for UK-based runners is sent via post and includes a personalized race number and a timing chip. On the day of the event, hydration and nutrition stations are placed along the course, and medical support is available.
The event offers several entry options:

- 26.6 km Green Runner (No medal, t-shirt, or goody bag; costs are donated to charity)
Finishers of the standard entry receive a long-sleeve technical T-shirt, a bespoke medal, and a goody bag with post-race nutrition. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three men and women, as well as the winners of each age group. The minimum age for participation is 18 years old.
