- 26.2 Relay (four legs approx 8.5m, 4.6m, 8.5m, 4.6m)
All courses are USATF certified and the marathon is a Boston qualifier. The trail is a smooth gravel-and-grass surface about 10 feet wide with a very gentle grade. The route follows the Maury River and passes farmland, limestone cliffs, small caves, bamboo stands, and ruins of stone locks and dams. Wildlife commonly seen includes deer, wild turkeys, river otters, fish, ducks, rabbits, and occasionally bald eagles. The full marathon covers the trail twice and does not require road crossings during the run.
Race support includes chip timing, aid stations with water and Gatorade, drop-bag service, porta-potties at turnarounds, free parking near McKethan Park, and post-race food. Finishers receive custom medals and event apparel that varies by year; age-group and overall awards include gift certificates and podium recognition. Walkers are permitted in the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. A virtual option is available for all distances with mailed amenities and self-reported results; virtual entrants are not eligible for awards.
Registration and payment are accepted online only. Transfers or deferrals are allowed through October 31, 2026; refunds are not offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
