Cheetah Chase 5K
The Cheetah Chase 5K is scheduled for June 27, 2026 at Binder Park Zoo, 7400 Division Drive, Battle Creek, MI 49014. The event offers two 5K options for participants.
- 5K Gazelle Gallop (5K Run)
- 5K Sloth Walk (5K Walk)
The course runs through the heart of the zoo and surrounding Michigan woodlands. Surface types include asphalt, brick, boardwalk, crushed rock, and grass. The route features a mix of hills, tight turns, and flat stretches, and passes areas with views of the African savanna habitat where giraffes, zebras, and antelope are visible.
Entry is pre-registration only and the race is limited to 1,000 participants. Registration fees include race entry, a performance race shirt, and a day-of zoo admission pass. Adults 21 and over receive their first Bell's beer free at the brew station; an alternative option is available for those under 21. To be guaranteed a race tee shirt, participants must register before Friday, June 19.
Friday early packet pickup is available in the Cross Administration Building. Packet pickup also offers on-site registration if space remains. Timing is provided by Mac's Sports Timing and live results will be available. Awards are given to top overall finishers, masters, and top age-category placements. Donations to support cheetah conservation at the zoo are optional. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
