About the race
The Cheddar Gorge Challenge is an off road run series around Cheddar Gorge and the Mendip Hills held on 14 June 2026. The event is based at Warren Farm, Charterhouse, Somerset, and takes place across tracks and trails within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Distances offered include: - 1 km fun run - 3 km fun run - 6 km - 10 km - Half marathon - Marathon The event also includes an Omnium multi event where runners take a long distance race plus a 100 m sprint, a 1 km middle distance and a hill climb run. Marathon runners face a 3 hour cut off to start lap two.
Omnium competitors who choose the half marathon as their long race must finish that leg in 3 hrs 15 mins to continue. Courses are well marked and marshalled and feature a mix of open fields, flat stone paths and more technical rocky sections. Feed stations and drink points are placed on the routes; water is provided on all races, electrolyte is available on longer races and coke is provided in later stages of the marathon. Runners of 6 km and longer receive a two sided 10 cm x 10 cm event medal. On site parking is available for a small charge to the host farmer.
Camping is offered through the site hosts. Facilities include toilets, coffee and food vans and a bag drop. The routes are not suitable for buggy or canicross running. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
