Chatty 5k
The fourth annual Chatty 5k is scheduled for August 22, 2026 in Owatonna, Minnesota at 1455 SE 18th St. The event is named in recognition of a 35-year coaching career and combines a community 5k race and a short kids run.
All proceeds from the event will support the Owatonna girls and boys cross country teams for the upcoming season. Online registration is available; registrations submitted before August 1 include a custom t-shirt. Registration opens May 21 and closes August 19. A registration fee of $27.36 is listed for the 5k event.
A separate kids fun run precedes the 5k. The kids run is a quarter mile long, is free to enter, and all participants receive a ribbon at the finish.
The event location is near the Steele County Fair, which is described as being just down the road from the race site. The programme therefore sits alongside local fair activities, and participants can expect the race to take place in close proximity to fairgrounds and related festivities.
