Circle the Lake Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K
The event on September 19, 2026 takes place at Millersburg School House, 3301 Millersburg Blvd. West, Faribault, MN 55021. It includes multiple race distances run around Circle Lake in rural Rice County. Courses follow a mix of paved and dirt roads over rolling hills and offer lake and wildlife views. The route passes the island in Circle Lake and is noted for sightings of bald eagles, osprey, deer, ducks, and pelicans.

- 5K youth discounted registration for those under 18 on race day
All races are chip timed and have posted mile markers. Water and sports drinks will be available along the course. Finishers receive commemorative medals and race winners receive prizes for the male and female top finishers. Racers registered before August 23 will receive a commemorative t-shirt; a $10 price increase applies on August 23. Registration opens February 20 and closes August 24. Same-day registration is available. Races are held rain or shine; refunds and transfers are not offered.
This is a charity event sponsored by the Circle Lake Association. Proceeds fund projects to improve the lake watershed and water quality. Last year the event raised over $32,000, which funded three new aerators for the lake. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
