Event Overview
The Chattanooga Mountains Stage Race is a three-day trail running event held in the mountains near Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is a stage race where participants run a different route each day.
Race Distances and Routes
The race covers three days with distinct routes:
- Day 1: A 22-mile course on Lookout Mountain at Lula Lake.
- Day 2: An 18-mile point-to-point route on the Cumberland Trail along North Chattanooga Creek.
- Day 3: A 20-mile loop on Signal Mountain.
Course and Requirements
The event is not for beginners. Organizers state that participants should be able to comfortably maintain a 15-minute per mile pace for 20 miles on moderately difficult trails. Strict time cut-offs are enforced for each stage.
