Chasing Hope 5K Run and 1 Mile Hope Stride
The Chasing Hope 5K Run and 1 Mile Hope Stride is a fundraising event on September 11, 2026 at White Hall Park in Richmond, Kentucky. The event raises awareness about suicide prevention and mental health. One hundred percent of net proceeds will support the Behavioral Health Department at Baptist Health Richmond.
Event formats include:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) timed event with awards on paved surfaces
- 1 Mile Fun Walk (1 mile) untimed on paved trail, no awards
- Virtual 5K (3.1 miles) run or walk, T-shirt mailed, no awards
The timed 5K is open to runners and walkers on paved trail and roadway surfaces. Awards are planned for the top three male and female overall finishers and for top three male and female finishers in various age divisions. Commemorative race T-shirts are included with registration while supplies last. Strollers and dogs on fixed length leashes are permitted in the 5K event.
A water lantern memorial event will take place at the park before the race; interested participants receive a lantern to decorate or write messages and lanterns will be launched on the park lake. The race also seeks volunteers for 3.5 hour shifts; volunteers who complete a full shift receive a commemorative T-shirt. Sponsorship levels are listed for supporters.
