Chasing Daylight 5K
Chasing Daylight is a sunset 5K held in Poughkeepsie, New York, centered at the MJN Center at 14 Civic Center Plaza. The course crosses the Walkway Over the Hudson, continues down to and across the Mid-Hudson Bridge, and returns to the MJN Center.
The event directs 25% of each registration fee to the local Hudson Valley nonprofit chosen by the participant. The registration fee is $40. Registration opens April 10, 2026 and closes June 20, 2026.
Partner organizations named for the event include Anderson Center for Autism, Dutchess Outreach, Family Services, Hudson Valley Hospice, Mental Health America of Dutchess County and its Vet2Vet program, the Mid-Hudson Civic Center (MJN Convention Center), and Miles of Hope.
Participants receive a medal for completion, an event T-shirt, a swag bag, top finisher awards, one complimentary drink, and entry to an afterparty at the MJN Center featuring a DJ, food and drinks, vendors, games, raffles, awards, and a 360 photo booth.
Organizations receive 25% of each registrant's fee. The top three nonprofit partners with the shortest averaged run time - measured by averaging the first five finish times from each organization - receive additional awards: 1st place $5,000, 2nd place $3,000, and 3rd place $1,000.
