Charlottesville Women's Four Miler
The Charlottesville Women's Four Miler is an annual event that takes place in Charlottesville, Virginia. Established in 1983, it has grown over several decades to become the largest women's-only race in the state. The event serves as a fundraiser, with all registration proceeds going directly to the UVA Breast Care Center to support breast cancer care and research.
Participants can choose between two primary participation formats:
- 4 Miles: An in-person running and walking event held on a countryside course at Foxfield.
- 4 Miles (Virtual): A remote participation option where individuals complete a four-mile distance at a location of their choosing.
The in-person course is located at Foxfield and features the surrounding local scenery. The event is supported by the Charlottesville Track Club and relies on a network of local sponsors and volunteers. Aside from the registration fee, participants have the option to engage in additional fundraising for the beneficiary. A virtual training program is also available for those preparing for the event. This community tradition is held annually around the Labor Day holiday period. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
