2026 2nd Chance Run - Fort Worth
The 2nd Chance Run in Fort Worth is a community run and walk that honors organ, eye, and tissue donors across 109 Texas counties. The event takes place at the Fort Worth Stockyards on October 17, 2026, with both in person and virtual participation options.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K in person and virtual
- 1 mile in person and virtual
Race registrations include a custom event t-shirt, a custom medal, a race bib, a timing chip for 5K participants, and a race swag bag with entry to the race village. Teams are encouraged; teams with five or more in person members receive a $2.00 refund per member (youth members excluded). Donor Remembrance Yard Signs will be available at packet pickup on October 16 and at the race village for participants to decorate and display along the course.
Volunteer roles listed for race day include water station attendants, medal distribution, event setup and breakdown, registration support, course guides, and cheer stations. Free parking is available in Lots 1 and 2, with signage directing participants; Lot 3 is designated no parking near the start and finish. The event raises awareness and funds for donation and transplantation efforts, with fundraising and sponsorship supporting race logistics, donor family events, and donor memorials.
