2026 2nd Chance Run - Fort Worth
LifeGift presents the 2nd Chance Run at the Fort Worth Stockyards on October 17, 2026. The event offers both in person and virtual participation and recognizes organ, eye, and tissue donors while raising awareness about donation and transplantation across the state. The run specifically honors donors in 109 Texas counties in North, Southeast, and West Texas.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K
- 1 mile
Registrations include a custom event t-shirt made for the Fort Worth run, a custom 2nd Chance Run medal, a race bib, and entry to the race village. 5K registrations also include a timing chip. Virtual registrations include a t-shirt with shipping. All participants receive a race swag bag.
Additional event features include a donor remembrance yard sign program available at packet pickup and on race morning, a team program with a $2.00 refund per in person member for teams of five or more (youth members excluded), and a community backpack drive organized by LifeGift’s Multicultural Advisory Committee.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at the Fort Worth LifeGift office. Free parking is provided in Lots #1 and #2; some lots will remain closed to departures until the event concludes. LifeGift lists a fundraising goal of $20,000 and offers sponsor packages to support race logistics and donor family events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
