2nd Chance Run - Fort Worth
LifeGift presents the 2nd Chance Run at the Fort Worth Stockyards, East Exchange Avenue, Fort Worth, TX on October 17, 2026. The event is offered in-person and virtually and features running and walking options.
Distances available:
- 5K in-person and virtual, includes t-shirt, bib, timing chip, medal
- 1-mile in-person and virtual, includes t-shirt, bib, medal
All in-person registrations include a custom event t-shirt, a custom 2nd Chance Run medal, a race bib, a race swag bag, and entry to the race village. Timing chips are provided for 5K participants only. Virtual entries include a t-shirt with shipping.
The event honors organ, eye, and tissue donors across 109 Texas counties and raises awareness of donation and transplantation. LifeGift lists a fundraising goal of $20,000 to support race logistics, donor family and recipient meetings, and donor memorials.
Packet pickup is scheduled for October 16 at the Fort Worth LifeGift office, 1000 12th Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104. Free parking is available in Lots #1 and #2 near the Stockyards; look for LifeGift signage. Donor remembrance yard signs are provided at no charge and may be decorated and displayed along the course.
Teams are encouraged; teams with five or more in-person members receive a two dollar refund per member, excluding youth members. The largest team will be recognized after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
