Chamblee Bulldog Dash 5K
The Chamblee Bulldog Dash 5K is a community running and walking event held in Chamblee, Georgia. The race serves as a joint fundraising effort hosted by the Chamblee High School Blue & Gold Foundation and the Chamblee Middle School Education Foundation. The event proceeds support the missions of these two foundations in assisting students and staff within the local school cluster.
Course Information The event features a 5 km (3.1 miles) course that is USATF-certified (GA23012WC). The route starts and finishes at Chamblee Middle School. Participants run through local neighborhoods and complete a loop around Chamblee High School. The terrain includes some hills. The course layout follows a specific turn-by-turn path involving Sexton Woods, Vanet Road, Harts Mill, Spring Street, and Mendenhall.
Participation and Logistics
- The race is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.
- Strollers are permitted and start shortly after the main group.
- Dogs are allowed on leashes; however, owners must start near the back of the field.
- The event is timed based on gun time.
- There are no hydration stations on the course; participants are required to bring their own water bottles to use at the start and finish area filling stations.
- Parking is available at the Chamblee High School parking lot, with access to the start area through North DeKalb Stadium.
Registration and Awards Participants who register by February 15 are guaranteed a t-shirt. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in Overall, Masters, and various age groups ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. Specific trophies are also awarded to the top runners from Chamblee Middle School and Chamblee High School, and a participation trophy is awarded to the local elementary school with the highest number of registrants.
