New Jersey Triathlon
The New Jersey Triathlon takes place at Mercer County Park. Since its inception in 2006, the event has grown to be one of the largest triathlons in the United States, typically hosting 3,500 participants. The race is known for featuring a flat and fast course layout suitable for a wide range of athletes.
Participants swim in Mercer Lake before transitioning to the bike leg and concluding with a run through shaded areas of the park. The event offers multiple distance options for individual competitors or relay teams:
- Sprint: Features a 500m swim, a 21.7km bike ride, and a 5km run.
- Olympic: Includes a 1,500m swim, a 40.5km bike ride, and a 10km run.
All registered athletes receive a medal, a t-shirt, and professional timing services. Participants also have access to an expo experience and a Finish Line Festival. This festival provides live music along with snacks and drinks for both athletes and spectators in a communal setting within the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
