General Information

The SAIL Challenge Esprit Montréal is one of the first and largest multisport events in Canada. It gathers over 3,400 athletes each year.

The 2026 edition will take place from September 11 to 13 in the heart of Montreal, at Parc Jean-Drapeau / Île Notre-Dame, using the Olympic Basin and the Gilles-Villeneuve Circuit.

Available Distances

The event offers four triathlon distances:

  • Initiation: 375 m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5 km run.
  • Sprint: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run.
  • Olympic: 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run.
  • Half-Esprit: 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike, 21.1 km run.

A corporate category is also mentioned. The Canadian Armed Forces participate, focusing mainly on the Olympic distance.

Context and Features

The event celebrates 42 years of triathlon heritage in Quebec, a story started by Danny McCann.
