SAIL Challenge Esprit Montréal

SAIL Challenge Esprit Montréal is a major multisport event held in the heart of Montreal at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Notre-Dame. The competitions take place at iconic locations including the Olympic Basin and the Gilles-Villeneuve Circuit. The event attracts over 3,400 athletes of all skill levels annually for swimming, cycling, and running disciplines.

Participants can choose from several race formats:

  • Initiation: 375m swim, 10km bike, and 2.5km run.
  • Sprint: 750m swim, 20km bike, and 5km run.
  • Olympic: 1.5km swim, 40km bike, and 10km run.
  • Demi-Esprit: 1.9km swim, 90km bike, and 21.1km run.

The schedule includes specific categories such as corporate challenges and divisions for the Canadian Armed Forces. The Olympic distance is notably utilized by the International Military Sports Council (CISM) for its competitions.

As part of the Challenge Family global circuit, the event offers a gateway to international competitions. A lottery held during the event grants 10 entry spots for Challenge Roth 2027 in Germany to athletes participating in the Demi-Esprit distance. This multisport gathering continues a legacy of over 40 years of triathlon history in Quebec. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
