CFJ Carousel 5K and Kids Fun Run
The CFJ Carousel 5K is an athletic event held in Johnson City, New York, aimed at supporting the maintenance of the historic carousel at CFJ Park. This park is home to what is considered the largest and most ornate carousel in the Greater Binghamton Area. The event coincides with the Johnson City Rotary Carousel Day, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Johnson City Rotary to support local community beautification efforts.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
- 200m (Kids Fun Run)
The 3.1 Miles course takes runners through the local area, while the 200m Kids Fun Run travels through the festival grounds and around the carousel itself. Registration for the 5K includes a custom t-shirt and a finisher medal featuring the CFJ Carousel. Participants in the kids' race also receive a t-shirt and a finisher medal.
Following the races, a post-race festival takes place in the park featuring entertainment, dozens of craft vendors, and various food options. Awards are provided in the form of gift cards for overall winners, masters categories, and various age groups for both male and female finishers.
