Running for Rachael 2026 : Lime Ridge Mall, Hamilton
Running for Rachael is a 5 km walk and run held in support of suicide prevention. The event takes place on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at Lime Ridge Mall, 999 Upper Wentworth Street, Hamilton ON. It is presented by the Suicide Prevention Community Council of Hamilton.
The event day includes registration and check-in, opening ceremonies, and separate starts for the run and the walk. Race results will be posted on Sport Made Simple. The event supports city-wide initiatives in prevention, intervention, and postvention, including LivingWorks Start training, the Be Safe mobile app that links to local mental health and suicide prevention resources, and bereavement support groups. In 2024 the event raised CA$44,548.81.
Registration options include the 5K walk and 5K run, student categories, and team registrations with a team captain role. Published fees show early bird and regular pricing for individual and team captain registrations, and donations over CA$20 receive a tax receipt. The organizers have set a participation goal of 300 people for 2026. The event is supported by a range of sponsors and partners including RBC Foundation, Brooks Running and Runner’s Den.
