North Downs Way 50
The NDW50 is a 50 miles point-to-point race along the North Downs Way National Trail from Farnham in Surrey to the fields behind Knockholt Pound Village Hall on the outskirts of Greater London. The route covers approximately 5,600 feet (1,700 m) of ascent, follows the first 50 miles of the NDW100 and is the second race in the 50 Mile Grand Slam. The course surface is roughly 80 percent trail and 20 percent road, and there are six fully stocked aid stations and organised medical support along the route. The event is the 16th annual running and has an overall time limit of 13 hours; additional cutoffs apply at intermediate checkpoints.
The route passes Puttenham, Guildford, Ranmore Common, Box Hill and Colley Hill, then continues through Merstham and Oxted before the final half mile into Knockholt Pound. The course follows North Downs Way signposts and is also marked with Centurion arrows and ribbons, but some road crossings are un‑marshalled and runners are responsible for their own navigation. Pacers and crew assistance are not permitted and spectators must not access aid stations. Finishers receive a finisher medal; prizes are awarded to the first three men and women and across veteran categories. Entry requires a prior marathon-distance qualifier within the stated period, the entry fee is £118 (£120 unaffiliated) and the field is limited to 300 starters.
