Centurion North Downs Way 50
The North Downs Way 50 is a 50 mile point to point race along the North Downs Way National Trail from Farnham in Surrey to the finish at Knockholt Pound on the outskirts of Greater London. The course covers the first 50 miles of the NDW100 and includes 5,600 ft (approximately 1,700 m) of total climb. Terrain is approximately 80% trail and 20% road.
The event takes place on 16 May 2026 and is held under a full UK Athletics permit (TRA Permit Number 8399). The field is limited with 325 starters listed. Runners must finish within a 13 hour time limit and there are additional intermediate cut offs. Aid stations are located along the route and there are six fully stocked stations offering a range of sports nutrition, drinks, hot food at the finish and options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free needs.
Entry requires a prior marathon-distance finish within that race’s cut off time between 1 January 2020 and race day. Entry fee is listed as £115 (£117 unaffiliated) and entries for 2026 open on 21 June 2025; places are offered first come, first served. There is no waiting list. Pacers and crew support are not permitted and spectators are asked not to attend check points.
Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and includes a charged mobile phone, minimum 1 litre fluid capacity, survival blanket, waterproof jacket, whistle, headtorch (minimum 100 lumens), cup and the supplied GPS tracking unit. A one hour time penalty may be applied for missing mandatory items. The course is marked by North Downs Way signposts plus Centurion markers and ribbons, but navigation remains the runner’s responsibility.
Awards include a finisher medal and prizes for the top three male and female finishers plus veteran category prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
