North Downs Way 50

The North Downs Way 50 is a 50 mile point to point run following the North Downs Way National Trail. The route begins in Farnham, Surrey, and finishes in Knockholt Pound on the outskirts of Greater London. This event marks the 15th edition of the race and serves as the second race in the 50 Mile Grand Slam.

The course covers the first 50 miles of the North Downs Way 100 route and includes a total elevation gain of 5,600 feet. The trail leads participants through several landmarks, including:

  • 50 miles (point to point from Farnham to Knockholt Pound)

Starting at the western edge of the North Downs in Farnham, the path passes through Puttenham and Guildford. The route proceeds toward Ranmore Common before reaching the steepest section of the event, which is the climb to the summit of Box Hill. After descending Box Hill, the trail continues over Colley Hill and passes through the areas of Merstham and Oxted. The final segment covers the remaining 8 miles to the finish line at Knockholt Pound.

The event is held under a full UK Athletics Permit granted by the Trail Running Association (TRA). Participants must be 20 years of age or older on the date of the event.
