Event
The North Downs Way 50® is a 50 mile (approximately 81 km) point-to-point run held on 16 May 2026 and organised by Centurion Running. Total climb is listed as 5,600 ft (about 1,700 m). It is the 15th annual running of the event and is the second race in the 50 Mile Grand Slam. Entry fee is shown as £115 (£117 unaffiliated). Minimum age to enter is 20. Entries for 2026 opened at 10:00 on 21 June 2025 and close on 4 May 2026.
Course and support
The route follows the North Downs Way National Trail from the trailhead at Farnham in Surrey east to Knockholt Pound near Greater London. The course passes Puttenham, Guildford, Ranmore Common, Box Hill, Colley Hill, Merstham and Oxted, and does not deviate from the trail until the final half mile into the finish. Terrain is listed as 80% trail and 20% road.
There are 6 fully stocked aid stations offering a broad range of food and drinks including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Medical cover is provided, including static medical stations at the finish and race ambulances. The overall cut-off is 13 hours with additional intermediate cut-offs. The course is marked with North Downs Way signposts, arrows and ribbons, but runners are responsible for navigation. Pacers and crew are not permitted; spectators must not attend checkpoints. Mandatory kit is required and random kit checks will be made; a one-hour penalty applies for missing mandatory items.
