North Downs Way 100

The North Downs Way 100 is a long distance trail race that follows the North Downs Way from Farnham in the Surrey Hills to Ashford in Kent. The course distance is 103 miles (167 km) with about 11,000 feet (3,350 m) of ascent and a 30 hour overall time limit. The event is held as an annual race and is a Western States qualifier.

The route starts at the western trail head near Farnham and finishes at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford. Key places on route include Puttenham, Guildford, Ranmore Common, Box Hill, Reigate Hill, Oxted and Knockholt Pound at the 50 mile point. The final section passes Detling, Hollingbourne, Harrietsham and Charing before dropping into Ashford. Course waymarking uses the National Trail acorn posts plus temporary markers and tape. Terrain is mainly trail with an estimated 80 percent trail and 20 percent road.

Practical race details include a race headquarters at Farnham Leisure Centre, a minimum of 12 fully stocked aid stations with options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free needs, and hot food or drinks at selected later stations. Drop bags are collected and returned to specified aid stations. There are mandatory kit checks and a one hour time penalty for missing items. Pacers are permitted from a designated point in the later race stages and crews may support runners at listed crew points. A qualifying 50 mile time standard is required to be allowed to start.
