17th Annual Central Michigan HIV/AIDS 5k
The Central Michigan HIV/AIDS 5k is a community event held in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Organized by the Central Michigan District Health Department, the event takes place at Island Park, with the main gathering area located at the West Pavilion near the volleyball courts. The event focuses on raising awareness and remembrance regarding the HIV/AIDS crisis while supporting local community programs.
The proceeds from the event are allocated to assist individuals living with HIV/AIDS within the Central Michigan community. These funds also support initiatives aimed at providing solutions to stop the spread of the virus.
Participants have two options for completing the 5k distance:
- 5k running race at Island Park
- Virtual 5k race completed at any location
The virtual option allows participants to complete their distance between September 14 and September 18. Virtual participants can upload their times and photographs to the official race page. Those participating virtually must collect their event materials, including a swag bag and t-shirt, from the Health Department location on East Preston Street, as items are not sent via mail. Pickup for these items is available during designated weekday hours prior to the in-person event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
