Event overview
The 4th Annual Central Arkansas' Last Chance Run is a free community run at War Memorial Park in Little Rock, AR (5101 W Markham St., 72205). Local running clubs participating include Arkansas Running Klub, Arkansas Ultra Running Association, Blue Rose Running Co., Cabot Country Cruisers, Conway Running Club, Fun Arkansas Running Club, Little Rock Roadrunners, River Valley Runners, Saline County Striders and the Spa Pacers. The group meets in the parking lot west of the roundabout at Fair Park Blvd and Zoo Dr. Parking inside the park is limited; overflow is available at War Memorial Stadium. Drinks and snacks are provided after the run in a covered pavilion, and door prizes will be given to registered participants who attend.
Course, distances, safety and charity
- 2.5 mile marked loop around the park; participants may run or walk multiple laps.
- 0.5 mile kids run, open to ages 10 and under.
The event is scheduled to run rain or shine except in unsafe inclement weather (for example lightning). The suggested route is open to the public and part of the loop runs along a city sidewalk with vehicular traffic; participants are responsible for their own safety. Online donations are accepted for the Arkansas Foodbank only; no canned food will be collected at the event. The Last Chance Run Cup awards clubs based on meals provided per club member, with each $1 donated equal to 5 meals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
