Arkansas' Oldest 10K Event
The Capital City Classic 10K takes place in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. This historic road race features a course that traverses the city center, including a section over the Broadway Bridge. The event provides several participation options:
- 10K (Runner/Walker)
- 10K (Wheelchair/Handcycle)
- 1 Mile (Kids' Race)
The Kids' 1 Mile is an out-and-back course open to participants aged 1 to 14. Parents are permitted to accompany their children on this route. All finishers in both the 10K and the Kids' Mile receive a t-shirt and a medal.
The event includes a pace team for 10K participants, with target times ranging from 45 minutes to 120 minutes. For competitive runners, an Elite Athlete Program offers a prize purse for the top five male and female finishers.
The start area is located at Markham Street and Broadway Street. For those attending to support participants, a spectator route of less than a mile is suggested, with viewing points at Markham and Scott Street, Main and 6th Street, and the finish line at Capitol and Louisiana. Packet pickup is held on the Friday before the event at a local running store, with additional pickup options available on race morning.
