4th Annual Centerstone Life;Story 5K Run/Walk for Suicide Prevention - Illinois
The Centerstone Life;Story 5K is a community event held in Illinois to support suicide prevention. The event takes place at Ray Fosse Park in Marion and offers multiple ways to participate in person or virtually. The gathered proceeds are used by Centerstone to provide mental health and addiction services for individuals with limited resources.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5K Run/Walk - Marion, IL: A chip-timed event starting at Ray Fosse Park.
- 5K Fun Run/Walk - Godfrey Location: An in-person 5K event held at the Godfrey site.
- Virtual 5K: A flexible option allowing participants to complete the distance at their own location and upload times online.
- Life;Story Kids Dash: Specifically for children aged 12 and under, with distances ranging from 50 feet to 500 feet based on the child's age.
The event site features a community health and wellness expo with vendors, mental health resources, and giveaways. Registered participants receive an event T-shirt and a finisher medal. The course at Ray Fosse Park is open to strollers and dogs on leashes. For the 5K, a water station is located at approximately mile 1.5 and at the finish line. Free onsite parking is available, though vehicle movement is restricted during the race for safety.
