Race for the Future 5K Run/Walk
This community fundraising event benefits the Lee's Summit Educational Foundation and takes place on October 10, 2026 at the Lee's Summit West Activity Complex, 2600 SW Ward Rd, Lees Summit, Missouri.
Event options include a 5K course, a virtual participation option, and a Kids Dash for children up to sixth grade. Registrations received by September 27 qualify for a t-shirt. Youth shirts run small; consider sizing up.

- Kids Dash Fun Run for children up to sixth grade, about 50 to 200 meters
Prizes are planned for the top male and top female overall and for top male and female in age groups. The three LSR7 schools with the highest participation receive grants from the foundation, up to $1,000 each.
The Kids Dash takes place on the track after the 5K. Children run in groups by age; the oldest children run approximately 200 meters and the youngest run approximately 50 meters. A Kids Dash option includes a t-shirt when registration meets the event deadline. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
