Event Overview
The 12th Annual Celebrate Sela: Race to Raise CDH Awareness is a community sports event held in Columbia, Mississippi. The event serves as a memorial for Sela Marie Anderson and focuses on raising awareness for congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). Proceeds from the various races are used by the non-profit organization to fund research and medical treatment for patients affected by this condition. All donations associated with the event are tax deductible.
The event offers several participation options to accommodate different ages and preferences:
- 5K Run/Walk: A standard distance race open to all ages and experience levels.
- Half Mile Fun Run: A shorter distance specifically for participants aged 9 and under.
- Virtual 5K: A flexible option allowing participants to complete 3.1 miles by running, walking, jogging, or using other methods from any location globally.
Participants who register by April 1, 2026, are guaranteed to receive an event shirt on race day. Options for apparel include Gildan Softstyle or Core 365 Drifit materials. While online registration concludes a few days prior to the event, in-person registration is available on the morning of the races. Additional shirt orders remain open for a short period following the physical event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
