12th Annual Celebrate Sela
The Celebrate Sela: Race to Raise CDH Awareness is an annual community event held in Columbia, Mississippi. This event is organized in memory of Sela Marie Anderson to support research, treatment, and public education regarding congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). Proceeds from the event are directed toward assisting CDH patients through the Celebrate Sela non-profit organization.
Participants can choose from various participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk: An event open to all ages and experience levels.
- Half Mile Fun Run: A short distance race specifically for children ages 9 and under.
- Virtual 5K: A remote option allowing participants to complete the 3.1 miles by running, walking, or other methods from any location.
The physical course is located on Broad Street. Participants who register by the early April deadline are guaranteed an event shirt on race day. Registration remains available online until a few days before the event, with additional registration opportunities provided on the morning of the races.
