Hiawatha Reindeer Run 2026
The Hiawatha Reindeer Run is a holiday themed fun run held at Fay M Clark Memorial Park in Hiawatha, Iowa on Saturday, December 5, 2026. The event is organized by Friends of Hiawatha Parks and Recreation and follows a approximately 3 mile course that starts on the east side of the park on N 18th Avenue, runs through the Wolf Creek neighborhood, and finishes back at the park parking lot. This year the route is slightly modified because of Clark Park Pond construction and arrows will mark the course.
Each registered participant receives a stocking hat and will have access to hot cocoa, candy canes, and cookies. There is an opportunity for photos in a giant snowglobe. Packet pickup is available on race morning at Hiawatha Clark Park. Prizes are awarded for the best dressed male and female participants. No awards are given for fastest times and there will be no official timing or recording.
Participants are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. Registration is listed at $25.00 with a higher fee the week of the event; fees are non refundable. Proceeds support local park projects and programs, including tree plantings, new drinking fountains, summer bus trips to the Cubs and Iowa State Fair, and Adventure Camp sponsorships, field trips, and supplies.
