Cedar Polka Fest – Race Series
The Cedar Polka Fest – Race Series is the festival's running program held in downtown Cedar, Michigan. The race series is part of the town's long-running polka festival; 2026 marks the sixth year of the festival race event while the festival itself has a multi-decade history.
The event offers both in-person and virtual participation. In-person entries begin and end in downtown Cedar and include festival admission and a complimentary beer or soft drink for in-person participants. Virtual participants receive a collectible T-shirt and support the Cedar community.
The series includes these distances:
- 4 miles Run 4 The Kielbasa
- 4 miles Virtual Run 4 The Kielbasa
- 2 miles Run 2 The Pierogi
The races are professionally timed and welcome runners, walkers, strollers, wheelchair racers, and dogs. Awards and medals are provided for top finishers; medals are available for top three finishers in categories and prizes are given for men's and women's overall and age-group placements. Packet pick up and race-day registration are available the day before and the day of the event at locations near the festival tent and the race start area. Awards may be picked up at the registration booth near the start/finish line.
After the races, the festival continues with a parade, craft show, farmers market, and live polka bands. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
