Run 4 The Kielbasa
Run 4 The Kielbasa is the Cedar Polka Fest race held in downtown Cedar on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The festival has been a Leelanau County tradition for 44 years, and 2026 is the sixth year for this festival race event. The main event is a professionally timed four mile run that begins and ends in downtown Cedar.
Registered participants for 2026 receive free entry to the Polka Fest and one drink ticket valid for a beer or a pop. The event welcomes runners, walkers, strollers, wheelchair racers, and dogs. A virtual option is available; virtual participants receive a collectible t-shirt and support the Cedar community.
A shorter Pierogi Fun Run is offered as an alternate event; pancakes and sausage are included for that option.
Packet pick up and late registration are scheduled the day before the race in front of the Polka Fest tent, and packet pick up plus race day registration will be located at the race start line near the four-way stop in downtown Cedar on the race date.
Prizes will be given to men’s and women’s overall first through third place age group winners for the four mile run only. Awards will be available for pickup after the race near the start and finish area.
Online registration closes on August 29, 2026. To be guaranteed a t-shirt, register online before August 15, 2026.
