Cedar City Moonwalk 5K
The Cedar City Moonwalk 5K is a nighttime running and walking event held in Cedar City, Utah. The event takes place on the 5 km Cedar City East Bench Trail System under the light of the Buck Full Moon. Participants can choose to complete the course as solo runners or walkers, and there is also an option for families or teams of up to six people.
The course begins at 1120 W Greens Lake Drive and follows the trail system to the finish line at West Canyon Park. One aid station is situated approximately halfway through the route, providing water, electrolyte drinks, and basic first aid supplies such as blister and bandage kits. The race concludes with a foam party at the finish line located along the creek.
Participants receive several items as part of their registration:
- 5 km timed bib
- Glow-in-the-dark race shirt
- Finisher medal
- Access to shuttle services
- Post-race food including Moon Pies and fruit
Shuttle services are provided to transport participants from the finish line back to the starting line parking area, as parking is not available at the finish line destination. Results are tracked via a timing system and awards are issued across multiple age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 70 and older. The atmosphere includes live music and themed photo opportunities. Online registration is required in advance as there are no in-person registrations available on the day of the event.
