Cazenovia Triathlon
The Cazenovia Triathlon is an event at Lakeside Park in Cazenovia, New York, organized by the CNY Triathlon Club. The club, formed in January 2000, supports triathletes and multisport participants through education, group workouts and events that promote triathlon as part of a healthy lifestyle.
The event program includes multiple race formats and distances:
- Intermediate Triathlon: 1500 m swim, 23.4 mi bike, 10 km run
- Aquabike Intermediate: 1500 m swim, 23.4 mi bike
- Relay Teams - Intermediate: 1500 m swim, 23.4 mi bike, 10 km run
- High School Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim, 13.6 mi bike, 5 km run
- Relay Teams - High School Sprint: 750 m swim, 13.6 mi bike, 5 km run
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim, 13.6 mi bike, 5 km run
- Aquabike Sprint: 750 m swim, 13.6 mi bike
- Relay Teams - Sprint: 750 m swim, 13.6 mi bike, 5 km run
- Bike/Run Sprint: 13.6 mi bike, 5 km run
The club runs a kid's tri program and a high school sprint wave at the event. The club can provide clothing, bikes and equipment for high school participants. Donations directed to the high school triathlete program support nutrition and wellness training, swim lessons, group training and equipment. The Cazenovia Triathlon is described as the club's main fundraiser, with much program funding coming from event registrations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
