Event Overview
The Catherine Creek Classic takes place in Union, Oregon. The 40th edition is scheduled for August 1, 2026. The event offers three distances: 1 mile, 5K, and half marathon.
The Course
The half marathon course is described as slightly downhill and fast. The 5K and half marathon starts require participants to take a provided bus, as there is no parking at those start locations. The 1-mile race starts and finishes at Union High School.
On-Site Details
The finish line, staging area, and on-site registration are located at Union High School. Bathrooms are available in a small gym near the high school. There are no bathrooms at the 5K or half marathon start lines, but half marathoners will pass restrooms at Catherine Creek State Park after approximately 5 miles.
Water stations are provided approximately every 3 miles on the half marathon course, with one station on the 5K route.
Registration and Costs
Registration fees are listed per person: $15 for the 1 mile, $25 for the 5K, and $35 for the half marathon. Online registration ends on July 31, 2026, at 8:00 PM. Race day registration costs an additional $5 per person. Family discounts are available for groups of 3 to 10 people.
Race shirts are available for an additional $20 fee if ordered by July 20, 2026. Limited edition collector's pins are also available for purchase.
Awards
Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race category (1 mile, 5K, half marathon). Ribbons are given to the top three finishers (excluding overall winners) in each age class. Awards are not mailed out; recipients or a representative must be present.
