Franklin Parish Catfish Classic 5K
The Catfish Classic 5K is a running race held in Baskin, Louisiana. Organized by Winnsboro Sports, the event features a single distance of 3.1 miles. The course follows a flat and fast route through the local area. This year marks the third consecutive year the event has been hosted in the north Franklin parish region.
Participants are provided with snacks and drinks at the event. Spectators are welcome to attend and gather at the venue. The race includes several categories for recognition, including awards for the Top Male and Top Female finishers. Age group medals are distributed in five-year increments for both male and female participants, starting from ages up to 15 years old. A new addition to the event is the presentation of medals for the Top 20 finishers.

Proceeds are used to fund a memorial scholarship in honor of Tracey Ready and to purchase Bibles for distribution to local detention centers. Individuals who complete their registration by the specified early deadline in May receive an event t-shirt.
