Catch-A-Pig 5K & Bacon Stroll
The Catch-A-Pig event is the 14th annual running and walking event held on August 16, 2026, at the Ma & Pa Heritage Trail William Street Trailhead in Bel Air, Maryland. The main race is an out-and-back course along the Ma & Pa Trail. A shorter community walk called the Bacon Stroll takes place on the same day.
The event uses a chase format. Young runners in pink shirts, called the piglets, receive a three minute head start. Adult runners who pass at least one piglet before the finish are entered into a special drawing for prizes. There are also designated late-start runners called the wolves who receive a seven minute later start; if the wolves all pass a runner, that runner loses eligibility for the special drawing.
Under-13 participants who run as piglets receive a free pig t-shirt. Dogs may participate when registered, must be on a leash, and carry a registration fee of $10. Registration fees for the main entries listed include $30 for the primary 5K and $25 for the kids run and stroll categories.
All proceeds after costs support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford and Cecil Counties. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
