Catamount Climb Half Marathon & 5K
The Catamount Climb Half Marathon and 5K takes place on April 3, 2027, on the Western Carolina University campus in Cullowhee, North Carolina, along the banks of the Tuckasegee River.

The 5K course is entirely on campus and navigates through the heart of campus with moderate elevation change. The half marathon begins on campus, travels off campus for a few miles, and then returns to campus for the finish.
The event is hosted by the Western Carolina University School of Health Sciences and the Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness. All race proceeds support student professional development and academic scholarships.
Registered participants receive a race packet that includes a race t-shirt, a race bib, and sponsor coupons or materials. Finisher medals are awarded to all half marathon finishers. Packet pick up is scheduled the day before the race on April 2, 2027 at the WCU Campus Recreation Center and on the morning of April 3 at the same location.
Awards are given in overall and masters categories for male and female winners, plus top three male and female in specified age groups for each event. Age group categories differ between the half marathon and the 5K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
