About the race
Everyone Runs Catalina State Park 50 Year Trail Race and 5k Trail Run and Walk takes place on October 4, 2026, at Catalina State Park in Tucson, AZ. The event features two trail distances:
- 9.3 Mile
- 5K
The 9.3 mile course begins and ends at the main parking lot and uses the Nature Trail, Bridal Trail, and the 50 Year Trail for a 2.75 mile out and back. A monitor and medic are stationed at the turnaround gate. The course includes narrow sections, especially on the 50 Year Trail, and runners should follow course monitors and the rock markers that keep participants on course. Total elevation gain for the 9.3 mile course is 603 feet, with a maximum elevation of 3,127 feet. The overall race cutoff is 9:00 AM.
The 5K follows the Nature Trail counterclockwise and an out and back on the Bridal Trail. Total elevation gain for the 5K is 127 feet with a maximum elevation of 2,805 feet. Runners and walkers on the 5K have 2 hours and 40 minutes to complete the course.
All participants are asked to carry their own water; event water is available before the Nature Trail and bottled water prior to the Birding Trail. Park entry passes are required and may be purchased in advance or at packet pickup. Awards are given overall and in five year age groups, with final age group structure determined by entry numbers.
