Catalina State Park 50-Year Trail Race
The Catalina State Park 50-Year Trail Race takes place in Tucson, Arizona. Participants navigate natural terrain within the state park, utilizing the Nature Trail, Bridal Trail, and the 50-Year Trail. The event offers two distinct distances for participants:
- 9.3 Mile Trail Race
- 5k Trail Run (3.1 Miles)
The 9.3 mile course begins on the Nature Trail before transitioning to the Bridal Trail and then to the 50-Year Trail. Runners travel 2.7 miles up to a designated gate before turning around to return via the Bridal Trail. This distance is open to runners and run-walkers who can complete the course within a three-hour limit.
The 5k trail run is open to both runners and walkers. This shorter course stays on the Nature Trail and the Bridal Trail sections of the park. For liability reasons, dogs are not permitted to accompany participants on the course.
All registered participants receive a finisher shirt, available in both cotton and technical fabrics with specific sizing for men and women. The event provides a Mexican breakfast, doughnuts, fruit, and nuts for those taking part. Awards include medals for overall winners and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in five-year age groups. Professional race photos are provided for digital download at no additional cost. Participants must collect bibs and pre-purchased parking passes at designated Fleet Feet locations in Tucson prior to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
