Everyone Runs Catalina State Park 50-Year Trail Race and 5k Trail Run & Walk
The event is held at Catalina State Park in Tucson, AZ, with the start and finish located in front of the main parking lot at the end of the park road. Two course options are offered:
- 9.3 Mile course follows the Nature Trail, Bridal Trail, and a 50-Year Trail out-and-back.
- 5K course follows the Nature Trail and Bridal Trail out-and-back.
The 9.3 mile course has about 603 feet of total elevation gain and reaches a maximum elevation near 3,127 feet. The 5K course lists about 127 feet of elevation gain and a maximum elevation near 2,805 feet. Runners begin on a short stretch of park road, proceed onto the Nature Trail counterclockwise, then continue onto Bridal Trail; the longer event includes a 2.75 mile out-and-back portion on the 50-Year Trail.
All participants are asked to carry their own water. Event water is provided before the Nature Trail and bottled water before the Birding Trail; participants who take bottles must carry them and avoid littering. The 50-Year Trail is narrow in places and course monitors will give instructions; runners should avoid running two or three abreast where traffic is present.
Parking passes are required and can be purchased through event registration or at packet pickup; different park entry fees apply if purchased at the park. Awards include overall and five-year age group recognition for male and female finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
