Everyone Runs Catalina State Park 50 Year Trail Race and 5k Trail Run & Walk
The event on September 20, 2026 in Tucson, Arizona offers two trail events at Catalina State Park, held from the park main road and parking area. The race is open to ages 5 to 100 and includes on-course monitoring and medical support at a specified turnaround point.
- 9.3 Mile Trail Race
- 5k Trail Run
The 9.3 mile course follows a short section of park road into the Nature Trail (counterclockwise), continues onto the Bridal Trail, then onto the 50 Year Trail for a roughly 2.75 mile out-and-back with a monitor and medic at the turnaround. Runners return down the 50 Year Trail, rejoin Bridal, and finish on the park road at the start line. The 9.3 mile event is limited to runners and run walkers who can complete the course within three hours. The 5k route uses the Nature Trail and an out-and-back on the Bridal Trail, finishing at the park road start/finish.
The organizer provides a homemade Mexican breakfast, doughnuts, fruit and nuts, free professional race photos for download, and finisher shirts in cotton and technical fabrics with male and female sizing. Awards include overall and five year age group medals for top three places and running shoes for overall winners. Bib and parking pass pick-up is available at Fleet Feet Tanque Verde and Fleet Feet Oracle on scheduled days before the event; pre purchased parking passes must be collected by September 19 at the Oracle location. Dogs are not permitted. Entry fees are not refundable and bib transfers require prior approval. The organizer suggests considering event insurance during registration.
