Castle to River Run - Garrison, NY
The Castle to River Run is a community road and trail event held in Garrison, New York, on Sunday, October 25, 2026. The event includes multiple distances and a kids fun run, and proceeds support The Friends of Philipstown Recreation, a 501(c)(3) organization that promotes recreational programs and facilities in Cold Spring, Garrison, Nelsonville and Continental Village.

The 1/2 marathon course travels through Hudson Highlands State Park, passes the Osborn Castle driveway with special race-day access for registered runners only, and continues down to the Hudson River. The course surface mixes single track, double track, dirt roads, and some paved sections; most of the course is runnable but includes some technical stretches and several hills. The 5K is a loop that follows part of Benedict Arnold's escape path; it is mostly flat with a couple of hills and consists of single trail and grass. Because part of the course crosses private property, course maps are not provided ahead of the race.
Logistics and policies: one aid station serves the half marathon (accessible twice, at about mile 5.5 and mile 8); there is no aid station on the 5K. Registered entrants receive a race T-shirt; sizes are guaranteed for sign-ups by October 4. Parking is at the Philipstown Recreation Department at 107 Glenclyffe Drive.
