Castle Hill Foot Race (King and Queen of the Castle) : 55th edition
The event is the 55th Castle Hill Foot Race, presented by City Oasis Inn and organised by Townsville Road Runners. It is titled King and Queen of the Castle and takes place in North Ward, with start and finish at Queens Park on Kennedy Street.
Two course options are offered:
- 4.2 km short course
- 7.4 km long course
Both courses begin and end at Queens Park and follow a route through local streets including Warburton Street, Gregory Street and Victoria Street. The long course continues along Stanton Terrace and Hillside Crescent, accesses the Goat Track and reaches the top of Castle Hill before returning to the park via local streets and a short dirt track near the car park on Kennedy Street. The short course follows the same initial streets, turns at the end of the bitumen road, retraces Hillside Crescent and Stanton Terrace, and returns to the finish near the car park on Kennedy Street.
Entry cost is $10 per person. Online registration is preferred and closes on Saturday 6 June 2026; registrations will also be accepted on the day for administrative purposes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
