Casablanca Classic 8K and 3K
The event offers two distances and supports the Grimsby Benevolent Fund. Organizers request donations of household and food items. Needed items include laundry soap, dish soap, hygiene products, garbage bags, tin foil, toilet paper, paper towels, kids snacks and treats. Additional items listed as most needed are canned fruit, fruit juice, tea, coffee, cereal, crackers, condiments and canned meat. Donations may be dropped off on race day in the registration area.
Location: Fifty Point Conservation Area, Lakeside Pavilion. Address: 1479 Baseline Rd. Stoney Creek ON L8E 5G4. There is free parking for athletes, spectators and volunteers.

Finishers medals are given to all runners. ChampionChip timing is provided by Chiptime Results. Each kilometre is marked on the course. The course is described as flat. Two aid stations are available. The races are timed so participants can run both distances to earn additional series points. 8K course record bonus: $250; course records listed without names are man (2005) 23:21 and woman (2001) 26:38.
Awards include 1st to 3rd overall and top master places, plus 3-deep age group awards across the age ranges specified by the organizers. For safety, strollers, dogs and bicycles are not allowed on the course and wearing headphones is strongly discouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
