CASA Color Run

The CASA Color Run is a family-oriented event held in Sycamore, Illinois. The route begins and ends at Sycamore Middle School, located at 150 Maplewood Dr. This event serves as a fundraiser for CASA DeKalb County, supporting advocacy for children in the local community who have experienced abuse or neglect. Participants can complete the course by walking, jogging, or sprinting.

The primary event offered is:

  • 5K (3.1 Miles)

The 5K route is clearly marked and features race volunteers stationed along the path to assist runners. The course includes one water station and four color stations where participants are doused with colored powder. Participants aged five and older receive a t-shirt and a color packet with their registration. Children aged four and under can participate for free, with the option to purchase a t-shirt separately.

While intended as a fun run, the event provides awards for the first-place overall male and female finishers across seven different age categories. These categories range from 10 and under to 50 and up. After the run, a celebration featuring music, snacks, and water is held for all attendees. For safety and logistics, pets are not permitted at this event. Packet pickup is available on the day prior to the race at 308 W. State St. or on the morning of the event at the middle school.
