Cartersville Glow Run 5K & 1M
The Cartersville Glow Run is a multi-distance running event held at Sam Smith Park in Cartersville, Georgia. This evening event features an environment where participants are encouraged to wear glow-related apparel. The race serves as a fundraiser for Bartow Family Resources. Participants can choose from several distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- 50 Yard Dash
The 5K course is USATF-certified and serves as a Peachtree Qualifier. It consists of a new route that meanders through Sam Smith Park. The 1 Mile event is a measured distance for both runners and walkers. For younger children aged four and under, the Wire2Wire-Wobble is a 50 Yard dash.
The event includes an awards ceremony following the races, with music provided throughout the evening. Specific award categories for the 5K include the top three overall male and female finishers, Masters, and Grand Masters. Unique accolades are also given for the oldest finisher, the fastest veteran, and the newest mom. Participants completing their first-ever 5K are eligible for a special medal.
Parking is available at Cartersville Middle School, with overflow options at the Ric Mason soccer fields, the Senior Aquatic Center, and Dellinger Park.
