Cartersville Glow Run 5K and 1M
The Cartersville Glow Run is a family-oriented evening event held at Sam Smith Park in Cartersville, Georgia. Participants are encouraged to wear glowing accessories while navigating the park grounds. The event primarily benefits Bartow Family Resources, with proceeds supporting their local community services.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- 50 Yard Dash
The 5K course is USATF-certified and serves as a Peachtree Qualifier. It follows a route through Sam Smith Park designed for speed. The 1 Mile event is measured for accuracy to provide a precise distance for runners and walkers. For younger participants aged 4 and under, the Wire2Wire-Wobble features a 50 Yard dash.
Awards are presented in several categories for the 5K, including the top three overall male and female finishers, Masters (40 and over), and Grand Masters (50 and over). Age group medals are provided for various brackets ranging from 10 and under to 80 and wiser. Unique award categories include Oldest 5K Finisher, Fastest Veteran, and Newest Mom. A special medal is also awarded to individuals completing their first ever 5K.
The event includes music and an awards ceremony following the races. Parking is available at Cartersville Middle School, with additional space at the Ric Mason soccer fields, the Senior Aquatic Center, and Dellinger Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
