Carrowkeel
Carrowkeel is a mountain running event organised by the Irish Mountain Running Association in County Sligo on Saturday 20th June 2026. The main course is 10.00 km with approximately 300 m of ascent. The event is classified as difficulty level 6, indicating moderate terrain and an expected ascent in the 200 m to 500 m range for a distance of 6 km to 10 km. The route is fully marked and the use of GPS devices is not permitted.
Entry fee information is provided: €7 for seniors and €5 for competitors over 65 and under 18. Entries open on 15th June 2026 and close on 19th June 2026. The event is part of the North West League and has a maximum field size of 250 places.
Registration takes place at the MayFly Inn in Ballinafad Village, which also serves as the parking location. There is a 2 km walk or jog from the village to the start point and no parking is allowed on the access road to the start line. Competitors must carry mandatory Level B standard kit: a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag or equivalent.
