Carrowkeel
Carrowkeel is a mountain running event in County Sligo held on Saturday 20 June 2026. The course distance is 10.00 km with approximately 300 m of climb. The event is rated 6 (2,2,2), described as moderate terrain with typical ascent in the 200 m to 500 m range for a 6 km to 10 km course.
The route is fully marked and the use of GPS devices is not allowed. The event forms part of the North West League and has an entry limit of 250 runners. Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s.
Registration takes place in the Mayfly Inn in Ballinafad Village, which is the designated parking location just off the N4 Sligo Dublin road. There is a 2 km walk or jog from registration to the start, and parking on the access road to the start line is not permitted. The Mayfly Inn location is a short drive from nearby towns.
Mandatory kit level is B. Required items include a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. The final kit to be carried may be confirmed at registration. Failure to carry required kit may result in denied entry or disqualification and random kit checks may be carried out.
